Privacy statement
How we look after your information.
Last updated 3 October 2026.
The Faithlife Church (Faithlife Charismatic Church) collects personal information only for church-related activities and communication. This statement explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is written in line with Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
Who is responsible
The Faithlife Church, Tema Community 3, Site A, behind Etoile Gardens, is the data controller for information collected through this website. You can reach us on 024 442 2594 or 055 158 8588, or through the contact page.
What we collect
- Contact and membership details: your name, phone number, email address, the area where you live, gender and date of birth, when you choose to give them.
- Messages: enquiries, prayer requests and counselling requests you send us.
- Church involvement: membership status, departments and groups you belong to, and attendance check-ins.
- Location at check-in: when you check in, your phone’s location at that moment is used to confirm you are at the church. We do not track your location at any other time.
- Photographs: a profile picture if you or the church office add one with your approval, and photographs or video taken at services and events.
- Your consent choices, including when and how you gave them.
Because this is a church, the information we hold may show your religious belief. The Act treats this as special personal data, and we handle it with particular care.
Why we use it
We use your information only for church-related activities and communication:
- replying to your enquiries, prayer requests and counselling requests;
- keeping membership, department and attendance records;
- pastoral care and follow-up, including birthday greetings and messages when we have not seen you for a while;
- telling you about services, activities and church news by SMS, phone or email;
- showing the life of the church on this website and our social media pages, where you have consented to your picture being used.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it or pass it on for advertising.
Our basis for using it
We rely on your consent, which you give when you send us a form, check in or answer a consent request. You are not obliged to give us any information; if you choose not to, we may be unable to reply to you or keep a membership record for you, but you remain welcome at every service.
Photographs and video
Photographs and video are taken at services and events. We use pictures in which you can be identified on our website and social media only with your consent. You can give, refuse or withdraw consent at any time on the photo consent page. If you withdraw consent, we stop using your pictures and remove those already published on our website when you point them out to us. For a child under 18, a parent or guardian decides.
Who sees your information
Your information is seen only by church leaders and staff who need it for their role. We use trusted service providers to run this website, send SMS and email, and provide technical support; they may handle your information only on our instructions and must keep it secure. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above. When you leave the church or ask us to remove your details, we delete them unless the law requires us to keep them.
How we protect it
Records are kept in a password-protected system that only authorised church staff can open. Changes to a member’s personal details take effect only after the member confirms them.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act you can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or out of date;
- delete information we no longer need;
- stop using your information, including stopping SMS and email messages;
- withdraw any consent you have given.
To do any of these, contact the church office using the details above. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
